For Chieregati, the natural ecosystem, the valley, and the forest are the epitome of heterogeneous assemblage: a dense territory where diverse elements coexist and affect one another. Through a journey through the surrounding landscape, her practice proposes creating new territories—affective and artistic—in which plant, animal, and human life converge. The artist explains: “My practice consists of entering the forest. I began during the pandemic, influenced by readings by Vinciane Despret, Anna Tsing, and Donna Haraway, going to the forest every day and carrying out a series of practices that activated my relationship with this landscape. Drawing on tools already developed through my choreographic practice, I began to ‘visit’ the non-human beings that inhabit the forest and to learn how to formulate questions that could generate kinships beyond my anthropocentric perspective.”

Lu Chieregati is an artist who holds a Master’s degree in Choreography and Performance from Justus Liebig University Giessen and the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies at Goethe University Frankfurt. Her research-based performance, choreographic, and dramaturgical practice places fiction and imagination at its core. She develops her processes through the invention of practices that activate narratives parallel to those of techno-heroic capitalist time. In 2021, she began researching the FLORESTA Project, which has resulted in a series of manifestations, including the stage works Floresta and Ghost Animal Future; the translation and publication in Brazil and Argentina of Ursula K. Le Guin’s text The Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction, published by N-1 and Rara Avis; and the workshop Warping Radical Erotics, based on the fiction of the Maenads.

Together with Norma Pérez, she is a member of the M0nster.L4b collective, through which they investigate the relationship between choreographic practices and transformation. With this collective, she premiered Baile Enmascarado at the Grec Festival in Barcelona, as part of the Creació i Museus programme, and subsequently presented the work at SESC Paulista. In 2026, they created Codice M0nster at the Fundació Joan Miró as part of the institution’s anniversary celebrations.

Norma Pérez, also known as Norma Mor or Muerte a la Norma, is a Chilean visual artist, performer, and travesti actress based in Barcelona. Her practice is characterised by the use of drag art and gender representation as tools for subverting social oppression. She studied Theatre Performance Arts at Universidad Finis Terrae and Theatre Pedagogy at Universidad de Las Américas in Chile, and completed studies in the Independent Studies Programme (PEI) at MACBA. She is currently the director of the Kobra Kuir programme.
