Myriam Rubio, an expert in research, programming, production and artist mentoring, has developed her professional practice in the fields of contemporary art, curating, and formal and informal education, working across both the private and public sectors.
She studied Fine Arts at theUniversity of Barcelona and at the Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton, and holds a Master’s degree in Art Theory from the Institute of Aesthetics in Madrid, Complutense University of Madrid.
She currently works at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona (MACBA), where she has developed numerous projects within the Public Programmes, Exhibitions and Collection departments. Between 2011 and 2024, she was responsible for and academic coordinator of five editions of the MACBA Independent Studies Programme (PEI). Since 2019, she has been Assistant Curator of the MACBA Collection and has been responsible for research on archives, performance and live arts.
She has been part of the CED research support team since 2017, has worked as a researcher with the performance team of the European L’Internationale grant, and is a member of the working group Safeguarding Digital, Experimental and Technological Art of Recent Decades in Spain: Perspectives, Challenges and Opportunities, led by the Complutense University of Madrid.
