AA+AA 2026 Cycle · One Night

D’una nit. Accions de proximitat asimètrica (One Night. Actions of Asymmetrical Proximity) proposes a reconsideration of the concept of friendship from an ecological and interspecies perspective in the Vall de Santa Creu.

This performance event brings together Lu Chieregati, Anna Cornudella, Javier Peñafiel and Carme Torrent to explore friendship in an expanded and radical sense. Its theoretical framework draws on Spinoza’s notion of “meaningful encounters” and Deleuze and Guattari’s concept of collective assemblage, revisited through the theories of ecosystems and hybrid kinships developed by Donna Haraway, Vinciane Despret and Ursula K. Le Guin.

Through the body, image, voice and language, the four interventions engage directly with the site’s meteorology, fauna and flora. During the transition from afternoon into night—in an atmosphere inspired by the figure of Puck and Shakespeare’s forest—the artists blur the boundaries between the human, the vegetal and the animal.

Ultimately, D’una nit operates as a political reflection and an exercise in ecological humility: a space of resistance that seeks to create affective ecosystems in which to coexist, survive and think together.

To follow the performance, participants must bring a mobile phone and headphones. The audio material will be sent in advance via WhatsApp. Please arrive 10 minutes before the activity begins. Suitable footwear, sun protection, insect repellent and something to sit on the ground—such as a scarf, foulard or towel—are recommended. Please note that mobile phone coverage in the area is very limited.
